What is the Perchance story generator?
Perchance's AI Story Generator is a free page on Perchance, a site where people build and share generators. Its own description promises a free, unlimited story writer with no sign-up or login that generates long stories paragraph by paragraph.
- Describe what the story should be about, or leave the box empty. The prompt can hold keywords, an overview, characters, a writing style, world lore or a genre.
- Generate, and the AI writes the next stretch of the story. You can edit the text as you go.
- Steer it with What should happen next?, or set the next major event in the story arc and clear it once it happens.
- Keep going for as long as you like, then save a share link or export the story.
Perchance keeps your stories in your browser, not on a server. Its own note warns that if your site data or cache is cleared, your stories are lost, and it tells you to back them up with the export button.
What is the Perchance AI RPG?
Perchance's AI RPG is a free text adventure with the AI as game master, "kinda like AI Dungeon" in its own description, with no sign-up or login. You say who you are and what the adventure should be about, then type your action in the box that asks What will you do next? The game master narrates what happens and voices everyone you meet.
A notes panel lets you track anything you want the AI to keep in mind: NPCs, quests, time of day, skills or reputation. You can set a response length and style, and push the plot toward a key event. Like the story generator, the AI RPG stores your adventures in your browser, so export them often.
The AI RPG is the closest thing on Perchance to a Teasa Story. The difference is where the world comes from: on Perchance you invent it in the prompt and the game master improvises the rest, while a Teasa Story starts from a world, a cast and an opening a creator has already written.
Perchance story vs a Teasa Story
| Perchance AI Story Generator | Perchance AI RPG | Teasa Story | |

| Characters | Whoever the AI writes | People the game master invents | A named cast with portraits, each in their own voice |

A Teasa Story opening, turn by turn: a written example
This is a written example of how a Teasa Story reads, not recorded output. The creator wrote the first part, the opening every player sees. You're a royal courier, snowed in at the last inn below a mountain pass, and the Story's Quests list shows "Deliver the sealed letter to Highwatch before the pass closes."
Narrator: Snow has closed the lower road. The last inn before Highwatch Pass is full of stranded travellers, and every one of them goes quiet when you step in with the courier's satchel on your shoulder.
Maren: The innkeeper sets down a mug before you ask. "Royal seal on that bag. You'll want a room with a lock, then."
Ser Aldric: He doesn't look up from sharpening his sword. "And a guide. Nobody crosses the pass alone in this weather. Not unless they want to be found in spring."
Then it's your turn, and everything after your line is written live, from what you typed:
You: I keep the satchel on my lap. "How much for a guide who doesn't ask what's in the letter?"
Ser Aldric: The whetstone stops. "More than you're carrying. Less than the man in the corner will offer you, once he's done pretending to sleep."
Narrator: In the corner, a hooded traveller's breathing changes. Maren's hand drifts toward the bar, where a cudgel waits.
In Perchance's AI RPG you would have written the courier, the inn and the snow into the prompt yourself, and the game master would invent Maren and Ser Aldric as you went. On Teasa they're already there, with names, portraits and voices their creator gave them. Your next move can be anything: hire Aldric, confront the stranger, slip out the back. Don't like a reply? Regenerate it, edit it or Tell AI what to change. When the letter reaches Highwatch in the story, the quest completes and pays its gold.
Why play a Story instead of generating one
- The first scene is already good. A creator wrote the opening, so your first move lands in a real moment instead of a blank page.
- A cast that stays in character. Every Character has a personality, a way of speaking and relationships with the others, and anyone in the scene can answer you; name a Character to speak to them directly. The Help Centre explains how group scenes work.
- Something to play toward. Tap Quests, the gold coin above the chat, to see the goals and the gold each one pays. Relationship milestones record the moments you earn with a Character.
- Characters who remember you. In Stories played with Matcha or Oolong, Characters recall what you've told them, and the Memory panel lets you see and forget any of it. Hojicha, the default chat style, plays from the conversation itself.
- Your stories are safe. A free account saves every playthrough on the web and Android, so clearing your browser doesn't cost you anything. Start new gives you a fresh run of the same Story, and Branch from here takes an earlier moment another way while your original stays.
- The cast outside the Story. Message any Character directly, free and without a message limit, on a free account.
Turn your Perchance story into a Teasa Story
Teasa doesn't import Perchance stories, but a story or adventure you love maps neatly onto Creator Studio:
- Premise and your role → Story. Paste your prompt's premise, then write who the player is and any world rules.
- People → Cast. Create a Character for each person who matters, with a personality, a way of speaking and a portrait.
- The first scene → Opening. Write it as a few blocks, each with a speaker such as the narrator or a cast member.
- Your notes panel → Blueprints and quests. Put places and history into a Blueprint with keyword entries, and turn the goals you tracked into up to 20 quests.
- Play-test privately, then publish. The lorebook guide shows how to write world entries that load when they should.
Have a Perchance character rather than a whole story? The Perchance AI chat guide shows how to bring one across, and covers what to do when Perchance is down.

FAQ
What is Perchance story?
"Perchance story" usually means Perchance's AI Story Generator, a free page that writes a long story from your prompt paragraph by paragraph, or its AI RPG, a free text adventure with the AI as game master. Both run in your browser with no sign-up or login.
Is the Perchance AI story generator free?
Yes. Perchance describes its AI Story Generator as free and unlimited, with no sign-up or login. Your stories are stored in your browser rather than on a server, so export them to keep a backup.
What is the Perchance AI RPG?

Where does Perchance save my stories and adventures?
In your browser's storage on the device you used, not on a server. Perchance warns that clearing your site data or cache deletes them and recommends exporting a backup often. On Teasa, a free account saves every Story you play to your account.
What is a good Perchance AI RPG alternative with characters?
Teasa. Each Story starts from an opening a creator wrote, with your role and a cast of named Characters who answer in their own voices, plus quests to complete and relationship milestones to earn. Your first 20 turns are free in your browser with no login.

Can I turn my Perchance story into a Teasa Story?
Yes, by hand in Creator Studio. Put the premise and your role in the Story, create a Character for each person who matters, write the first scene as the Opening, move world notes into a Blueprint and add up to 20 quests. Play-test privately, then publish.
Is Teasa free?
Yes. Stories are free to play, your first 20 turns need no account, and a free account saves your Stories and adds free, unlimited DMs with any Character. Teasa Pass is optional and adds Oolong, live web lookup in DMs, ad-free play and priority replies.
