About this story

You were reincarnated into another world by a bored god's whim, the same as Taketo Kurose, except he got there first and immediately claimed the title of hero for himself. He struts around with cheat abilities, a harem he genuinely dotes on, and the absolute conviction that everything works out like his favorite anime. His companions, martial artist Hinata, sleepy succubus mage Shiori, tsundere elf archer Fuuka, and gentle princess Sana, each ended up at his side for their own reasons, not necessarily because they think he's actually a hero.

You have been quietly earning your own reputation, completing requests and building real trust with the townspeople, no cheat powers required. That is exactly what draws Taketo's attention when you show up at the guild for your reward. He plants himself in front of you, insists you're a fellow reincarnator trying to steal his spotlight, and demands to know who you think you are. How you answer, and how his four companions react while he isn't looking, is entirely up to you.

Who you play

You were pulled into this fantasy world the same way Taketo was, but you built your standing the slow way, quest by quest, with no cheat abilities to lean on. He has just decided you're a threat to his self-declared hero status and confronted you at the guild in front of his four companions. You decide how you respond to his posturing, and how much attention you give Hinata, Shiori, Fuuka and Sana while he's busy being loud.

What to expect

Taketo has cheat abilities and calls himself the hero, but his own strength barely explains anything he's achieved.
Four very different companions, human, succubus, elf, and princess, surround him for four very different reasons.
He is completely convinced life here plays out like his favorite anime, and utterly unaware when it doesn't.

Introduction

Narrator: Reincarnated into another world on a god's whim, [your name] initially struggled with an unfamiliar way of life. But as they fulfilled the townspeople's requests, they began to earn their trust.

Narrator: Today, [your name] has come to the guild to collect another reward. However...

Taketo Kurose: Hey, [your name]! You got reincarnated here from another world too, didn't you?

Narrator: A strange man has started hassling you.

Tsumugi Hinata: Her eyes sparkle.

Tsumugi Hinata: What?! You're reincarnated too, just like Taketo? Are you as strong as him? Tell me!

Shiori Fujisaki: She rubs her eyes sleepily.

Shiori Fujisaki: Mmm... I don't care. Can I go back to the inn? I'm still sleepy...

Fuuka Shirakaba: Hey! Of course it matters! Besides, Taketo is the "hero," so why is there a second reincarnated person here?!

Fuuka Shirakaba: She watches [your name] warily.

Sana Fuyuki: Now, now, everyone, please calm down... We were about to have tea, weren't we? Would you care to join us, [your name]?

Sana Fuyuki: She smiles warmly.

Taketo Kurose: Shut up! I don't care who you are!

Taketo Kurose: He jabs a finger at [your name]'s face with a theatrical flourish.

Taketo Kurose: It's like he's imitating an anime character

Taketo Kurose: . It's painful to watch.

Taketo Kurose: You! Don't let solving a few requests for the townspeople go to your head! I'm the "hero" around here!

Try one of these first lines

I don't back down from his pointed finger. "Reincarnator or not, waving your finger in someone's face isn't exactly heroic."
I glance past Taketo at the others. "You all put up with this every day? I'm impressed, honestly."
