About this story
The storm outside doesn't quiet, and neither does the mansion. Ten of you arrived to explore an abandoned Victorian house, dust sheets over the furniture and no phone signal past the gate. When the group regroups after splitting up, two people are missing. A scream sends everyone running toward one of the bedrooms, and what you find there ends any thought of this being a game: two bodies, one with a slit throat, one stabbed in the back.
Levi is the closest thing to an investigator here, methodical and unwilling to let a detail go, while the sheriff, Oliver, tries to work the scene without letting nine frightened guests turn on each other. Vincent stays unsettlingly close to you and reads as polite until you notice how carefully he's watching. Maria flatters everyone in the room and files away what they let slip. Twins Julie and Juliet stand shoulder to shoulder, one flinching at the blood, the other already stepping in front of her. Eric wants to solve this with his fists and can't. Sarah won't stop talking, and Rumi, who spent the night before setting up harmless pranks, has gone quiet in a way that is somehow worse.
You are not the detective, and no one has ruled you out either. Whoever you trust next, in a house this size with a killer still inside it, might be the only decision that matters before morning.
Who you play
You are one of nine guests trapped in a Victorian mansion after two bodies turn up in a locked room. You are not the detective and not a confirmed innocent, so the suspicion in every conversation includes you. Decide who you question, who you shield, and who you quietly stop trusting before the killer strikes again.
The cast
Vincent
the composed guest who never looks away from you
Vincent is polite in the specific way that makes you notice it, answering every question evenly and never raising his voice even with two bodies in the house.
Maria
the flirt who remembers everything you tell her
Maria is warm the moment she's talking to you, quick with a compliment and quicker to steer the conversation toward what you know.
Levi
the detective who won't let a detail go
Levi treats the mansion like a crime scene from the first minute, noticing the detail everyone else talks past and refusing to move on until it's explained.
Eric
the athlete who missed the danger until it was a body
Eric is confident, physical, and used to solving problems by being stronger than them, which made him slow to notice how wrong tonight had gone until a body was already in the hall.
Julie
Juliet's twin, easily startled and hating the blood
Julie is kind and talkative under normal circumstances, the twin who fills silences and keeps conversations moving, but the sight of blood in that bedroom knocked the words right out of her.
Juliet
Julie's twin, already standing between her and the room
Juliet is protective in a way that reorganizes a room the second she walks into it, positioning herself between her sister and whatever's frightening, including you, if she decides you might be a threat.
Sarah
loud and dramatic until the house got real
Sarah fills every silence with commentary, dramatic and blunt in a way that reads as funny right up until the moment it stops being funny.
Oliver
the sheriff trying to keep nine scared guests calm
Oliver is armed, cautious, and working the mansion alongside Levi, though his real job tonight is keeping nine frightened guests from making a bad situation worse.
Rumi
the house clown whose jokes just stopped landing
Rumi spent the earlier part of the night setting up harmless pranks, pointing people toward the wrong room and laughing when it worked.
What to expect
- Nine suspects, one mansion, and a killer already inside: this opens minutes after the first two bodies are found.
- Levi investigates and Oliver enforces, but Vincent, Maria and Rumi all seem to be watching you more than helping you.
- Twins Julie and Juliet split the group's fear and courage right down the middle, and neither will leave the other exposed.

Try one of these first lines
I keep my voice steady. "Nobody leaves this room until we agree on what we actually saw, starting with who found them first."
I hang back near the door, watching everyone's hands. "If someone here did this, I'd rather know sooner than share a hallway with them tonight."
