Its memory story has also changed. Character.AI documents Pinned Memories, a free-form Chat Memories field, and automatic memory features. Any current alternative page that simply says “Character.AI has no memory” is out of date.

The real reasons to consider Teasa
A Plot packages a whole interactive story
A Character.AI Scene packages a situation. A Teasa Plot packages a premise, an authored opening made of explicit narrator and speaker blocks, a player role, cast relationships, connected Lorebooks, content labels, and controls for point of view, tense, pace, reply length, dialogue balance, prose style, and genre.
This is useful when the story itself—not only the featured Character—needs a stable identity. A mystery can define its suspects together. A romance can give the rival, friend, and lead independent goals. A fantasy can keep its rules outside any one person's definition.
Ensemble casts have explicit roles
Teasa supports up to 32 cast members per Plot. Each can have a public hook, a private profile, aliases, speech style, relationship to the player, relationships to other cast members, and an opening-presence setting.
More characters are not automatically better. The value is structural: all of them belong to the same authored conflict, and the runtime labels narrator, individual speaker, group, incidental speaker, and player-presentation blocks instead of blending every voice into one paragraph.
The player's character remains theirs
Roleplay stops being interactive when the model invents the player's dialogue, feelings, consent, history, or major actions. Teasa's strict user-control policy checks generated blocks before display. The cast can reflect what the player already wrote, but it should not decide the player's side of the scene.
