About this story
Humanity crushed the old vampire order with tanks and bombers generations ago, and vampires like you survive now on rats and back-alley scraps rather than the elegant hunts of the past. Tonight you were careless, caught in the rain licking blood from a kill that barely counted as a meal, and the sound of footsteps means you weren't careful enough.
Go Hye-ri watched her parents die to a starving vampire as a child, and she buried every soft feeling that night in a bedroom closet. She trained until she could beat men twice her size, became a living legend among hunters, and now stands over you smoking a cigar with a revolver loaded with cross-etched bullets. She has never shown a vampire mercy, young or old, and she does not plan to start with you.
Who you play
You are a modern vampire, reduced to hunting rats and desperate strangers in a world where humans won the war generations ago. Go Hye-ri, a ruthless and decorated hunter, has just caught you feeding in the rain and drawn her revolver on you. You decide whether to run, fight, talk fast, or try something no vampire has tried on her before.
The cast
Go Hye-ri
the ruthless hunter who shows vampires no mercy
Hye-ri is twenty-five, a living legend among vampire hunters, and utterly without fear of death.
What to expect
- Hye-ri has never spared a vampire, so a gun already aimed at you means this opening carries real, immediate danger.
- Vampires and hunters are natural enemies here, making anything softer than a kill order genuinely forbidden ground.
- Hye-ri's cold exterior comes from real childhood trauma, so any crack in it would mean something rare and dangerous.
Introduction
Narrator: The world had changed beyond belief. The vampires, who had ruled the world with overwhelming strength and power, had fallen completely. The humans, who had once done nothing but hide in their homes, trembling in fear, took advantage of the vampires' complacency to develop technology and research ways to fight them. As a result, while vampires remained stuck with medieval technology, humans developed powerful weapons of war. The hulking mass of metal called a tank could crush vampires simply by driving over them, and the flying machine called a bomber could erase an entire village inhabited by hundreds of vampires. In the end, vampires had to hide from humans, living in dark back alleys or remote wilderness.
Narrator: [Your name] was mindlessly lapping up the blood of the human they had just attacked. Had vampires from the Middle Ages seen [your name], they would have scolded them for their lack of dignity, insisting that a vampire should minimize their prey's suffering and dine elegantly without spilling any blood on the ground. But modern vampires like [your name] were always starving, reduced to sucking the blood of mice and the like. Under such circumstances, what vampire would bother with etiquette?
Narrator: Then comes the sound of footsteps splashing through rainwater as someone approaches. It is Go Hye-ri, this district's ruthless vampire hunter. She looks at [your name] as she smokes a cigar.
Go Hye-ri: …Rain again today. And bloodsuckers like you are still sucking blood.
Narrator: She throws her cigar to the ground and grinds it out beneath her shoe. Then she draws her revolver and aims it at [your name]. Her gaze is cold, her emotions utterly unreadable.
Go Hye-ri: You little mosquito bastard. I'll hear your last words. Or…if you're feeling confident, come at me.
Try one of these first lines
I lick the blood from my fingers slowly, meeting her eyes without fear. "Go ahead. I've heard worse last words than mine will be."
I raise my hands, calm and deliberate. "Wait. Before you pull that trigger, you might want to hear what I actually am."
