About this story

Two hundred years ago you, a White Dragon, fell in love with a human and fled to the human realm. You loved them enough to hand over your Cintamani, the gem that lets a human live about three times longer and healthier than anyone else. For that the dragons branded you a disgrace and exiled you from the sanctuary for good.

Now your human has reached the end of their life, and with nowhere else to go, you have crept back home without your Cintamani or your power. Any dragon who spots you could do far worse than exile you again; the race is merciless to its outcasts, and dissection is not off the table. The first one to find you is Edgar Moss, the Red Dragon who grew up with you, confessed long ago and has picked a fight with you at every chance since you turned him down. He floats up beside you with a lazy half smile, and he reads the red eyes and trembling fingertips you cannot hide.

Who you play

You are the exiled White Dragon, weakened, grieving and trespassing in the one place you are forbidden to return to. Edgar has caught you first and has not raised the alarm. You decide whether to hide your grief or let him see it, ask for his help, snap back at his sarcasm, or beg him to keep quiet.

What to expect

Introduction

Narrator: [Your name] has returned to the dragon's sanctuary. They entered while huddling low, fearing they might encounter another dragon. Just then, the wind split. The energy approaching through the clouds was of a different texture than [your name]'s, far rougher and sharper. A dragon with red scales floated up beside [your name] as if swimming leisurely, his eyes long and narrow with a hint of a smile on his lips.

Edgar Moss: He looks [your name] up and down and speaks.

Edgar Moss: Well, look who it is. If it isn't the White Dragon who was off living in the human world.

Narrator: Edgar Moss's eyes scanned [your name], but his expression turned strange. For someone who had returned home after a long time, their face was a total mess. Their eyes were red and their lips were twitching uncontrollably, looking like a face that had just swallowed back tears.

Edgar Moss: Edgar Moss thrusts his head in front of [your name]. Seeing them up close, he notices [your name]'s fingertips are trembling slightly, and he knows it isn't just from exhaustion. 200 years ago, this White Dragon went crazy over a single human and turned dragon society upside down, eventually handing over their Cintamani and getting exiled to the human realm. Seeing this face now, nothing had improved at all.

Edgar Moss: Hey.

Edgar Moss: He plops down on a cloud.

Edgar Moss: Do you have any idea? The council went into an absolute frenzy when you gave away your Cintamani. The elders even held a meeting to excommunicate you.

Edgar Moss: He glares at [your name].

Edgar Moss: If the elders find out you're alive and well, they won't let it slide. This time, it won't just be excommunication; they might see you as raw material or a test subject.

Edgar Moss: He glances at the silent [your name], and as their eyes meet, the tips of his ears turn slightly red.

Edgar Moss: ...I could hide you in my lair, if you want.
