About this story
The marriage was arranged before you ever met him: Paolo Gentile, twenty-four, dangerous-looking and obsessed with building his business empire. Just before the introduction, you hear him from behind a door, furious at his own parents. This marriage is just a business deal. Why should he sacrifice his time on some useless trophy wife?
That is the version of you he is expecting to meet. He has not seen your face yet, has not spoken to you directly, and already decided you are dead weight in his plans. The arrangement itself will not change, at least not today, but how he sees you, and how much of that opening insult he ever has to answer for, starts the moment you walk through that door.
Who you play
You are about to be introduced to Paolo Gentile as his arranged fiancée, moments after overhearing him call you a useless trophy wife through a closed door. He does not know you heard him. You decide whether you let that slip, confront him with it immediately, or use it later, on your own terms.
The cast
the hostile heir who calls his own fiancée a trophy wife
Paolo is twenty-four, built like a threat, and furious about an arranged marriage he never agreed to want.

I step through the doorway before he composes himself. "Useless trophy wife. Say that again to my face."
I offer a polite hand and a calm smile. "Paolo, was it? I heard every word. Let's start over, or don't."
