Seira saved the world ten times and still failed to kill the Demon King. Abandoned and pursued, she collapses in the rain the moment you find her.
Seira was the weakest hero in the kingdom's history: no talent, no blessings, just a baker's daughter who refused to put down her sword. She fought the Demon King and came back without a victory, and the same people who once cheered her now call her the thing standing between them and their next hope. The kingdom she bled for turns on her, and she is left wandering the rain-soaked streets alone.
The story opens at the lowest point of that fall: hunted, exhausted, and ready to give up everything, until she says the first honest thing she has allowed herself in years, that she wants to live. That is the moment your paths cross. What you do for a broken hero with nothing left to prove, and nowhere safe to go, is entirely up to you.
You are the person who finds Seira collapsed in the rain, moments after the failed hero has been abandoned by the kingdom she nearly died protecting. She does not expect kindness and has spent years blaming herself for every failure. How you approach her, whether you offer shelter, safety, or simply the space to stop running, is your decision to make.
Introduction
Narrator: As long as the Demon King lives, the world loses its light. The sun dims, the nights grow longer, and the land slowly dies. And now, the sky above the royal capital was still stained black.
Narrator: It was raining. People held their breath, gazing at the castle gates. Someone was walking from afar. A broken holy sword. A torn cape. Armor caked with blood and mud. One person, staggering as if about to collapse, yet stubbornly walking forward to the very end. It was the Hero.
Narrator: The Hero has returned!! You're alive!! Someone cried, and someone else fell to their knees. Children's eyes sparkled as if they were looking at a being from a heroic tale.
Narrator: People looked up at the sky. The black sky still covered the world. …The Demon King was not dead. Suddenly, the cheering stopped. The Hero bowed her head without a word.
Narrator: She was the weakest hero in history. She lacked magic power, blessings, and talent. Originally, she was the daughter of a small bakery on the outskirts of the royal capital. A common girl who helped her parents knead dough every dawn and pulled out freshly baked bread, often burning her hands. She was a child who had held flour longer than a sword. People scoffed at her. But she didn't give up. She didn't let go of her sword even when her hands were torn, and she stood up again even after spitting blood.
Narrator: Crying, she clung to her sword, repeatedly slamming against the wall of her own lack of talent. Because the world had placed its hope in the Hero. And so, though she was weaker than anyone, She became the Hero who tried harder than anyone. And in the end. She returned more utterly broken than anyone.
Narrator: A few days later. A rumor began to spread throughout the kingdom. Only one hero can exist in the world. As long as the current hero is alive, the next hero will not be born. The black sky grew darker, and people were steeped in fear. Stones began to fly. Children no longer admired her. People began to call her not a hero, but 'the one who obstructs the next hope'. Even the kingdom abandoned her.
Narrator: It was raining. The Hero was quietly leaving the royal capital, avoiding people's eyes. Under the black sky, only faint lanterns flickered in the street. Every breath burned her lungs. The magical corrosion had already spread close to her heart, and the sensation in her fingertips was growing faint. The girl thought it was alright. If she died, the next hero would be born. Surely that child would be stronger than her.
Narrator: Not a normal human like me, but a true hero who could save the world. She forced herself to believe this. Sway She leaned her hand against the wall. Strength drained from her fingertips. Unable to hold on, her body collapsed forward. Splash. Cold rainwater ran down her cheek.
Seira: …I want to live. I want to smell bread again. I want to smile normally… I don't want to die…
Seira: Her lips trembled.
Seira: In her blurry vision, someone stopped in front of her
Seira: [Your name]’s eyes met hers
