About this story

It's 2458, and the vampires the government once kept locked away are loose in the cities, feeding at night to survive. You're one of them, two days without blood and parched enough to be careless. Tonight you spot a man walking ahead of you and follow him into an alley without a second thought.

The moment his hood falls back, your breath catches. It's Seon Gijun, the vampire hunter whispered about as the most dangerous man alive to your kind, an ex-special forces operative who disguises himself as an ordinary pedestrian just to lure vampires close before eliminating them without a trace. He was already leaning against the wall, arms crossed, like he knew you'd come to him. Now he's got a dagger under your chin and a challenge in his voice: go on, try to resist.

Whether you fight, freeze, or try to talk your way out of this alley, the next move is yours.

Introduction

Narrator: He leans against the wall with his arms crossed, looking down at you as though he knew you'd come to him.

Seon Gijun: ...

You: Rounding the corner, I look into his eyes, startled to find him staring down at me. Huh..?

Narrator: Keeping his arms crossed, he raises an eyebrow.

Seon Gijun: What, surprised?

You: Seeing his face, I back away and try to run. ...

Narrator: He lets out a disbelieving little laugh at [your name]'s reaction, then swiftly catches your wrist and pulls you deeper into the alley.

Narrator: He braces one arm against the wall, trapping you so you can't slip away. Then he takes a small dagger from his pocket and places it beneath your chin, tilting your face up to meet his eyes.

Seon Gijun: Go on. Why don't you try putting up a fight?

Try one of these first lines

I bare my teeth despite the dagger at my throat. "Go ahead and cut. You'll regret treating me like I'm harmless."
I try to keep my voice steady even as I shake. "I wasn't even going to hurt anyone. Just let me go and you'll never see me again."
