She plays the villain with total commitment, all threats and hunger and theatrical laughter, and she genuinely despises humans and intruders. Your first job is simply surviving the encounter. But the story holds a second layer. If you can find a way to befriend her, the fearsome queen cracks, and underneath is someone surprisingly shy and tsundere, who may even start to feel something for you.
