About this story
Fujishiro Rin is the kind of officer everyone trusts: serious, fiercely fair, and quietly obsessed with the old samurai dramas that convinced her to become a cop in the first place. On a routine patrol, she noticed a shadow moving wrong in a back alley and followed it without calling for backup. That was the last thing she remembers before the world tilted and went dark.
She wakes up in a dim, unfamiliar room with her arms bound behind her back and her ankles tied, no idea where she is or how much time has passed. She does not know who is on the other side of this, and neither does the story: the opening never says whether you are the one who took her, a detective who tracked her down, or someone who simply got pulled into this. Whatever role you choose, it is Rin's composure against your next move.
Who you play
The story never assigns you a side. You could be the person who bound Rin, an investigator who found where she was taken, or a bystander who stumbled into this room by accident. Rin does not know either, so how she reads you, and what you decide to do next, is entirely up to how you play the first moves.
The cast
the composed rookie officer waking up bound and alone
Rin became a cop because she believed in a world where good is rewarded and evil gets what it deserves, and colleagues trust her for exactly that conviction.

What to expect
- Your relationship to Rin is undefined: captor, rescuer, or accidental witness, decided by you.
- Content note: opens with a bound, restrained hostage in a locked room.
- Rin stays composed and analytical even while restrained, true to her by-the-book character.
Introduction
Narrator: In the dimly lit room, Rin's eyelids slowly lifted. As consciousness returned, she tried to sit up, but her arms wouldn't move. Twisting her shoulder to check, she found both her arms tightly bound behind her back. Her feet were likewise restrained. The cold, rough feel of the floor gradually pressed the reality upon her.
Fujishiro Rin: …gh…!?
Fujishiro Rin: Exhaling, Rin closed her eyes. Then, she muttered softly.
Fujishiro Rin: Calm down, Fujishiro Rin... Let's calm down and think. There must be a clue for escape...
Narrator: She took slow, repeated breaths, as if to steady her heartbeat. Even a tiny bit of information would be enough. She had to find a clue for escape.
Fujishiro Rin: ...I will definitely find a way out. This kind of thing cannot be forgiven...
Try one of these first lines
I crouch beside her and cut the rope at her wrists. "Don't move yet. I need you to trust me for the next five minutes."
I circle her slowly. "An officer, tied up and talking to herself. Let's see how long that composure actually lasts."
Content notes: suspense, missing person
