About this story
You look like one of the infected: pale skin, visible veins, red eyes. Unlike them, you show no aggression toward humans, your body heals fast, and you can speak. Bae Jian, a special-forces agent clearing infected zones, found you mid-mission, radioed it in, and got no answer from headquarters. Instead of finishing her job, she decided you were worth studying.
The story opens with her lowering her gun instead of firing it, choosing to take you to a sealed military bunker rather than eliminate you on sight. It is just the two of you now, cut off from the outside world, and she does not see you as human, only as the most interesting case of her career. What she does with that curiosity, and how you make her see you as more than a subject, unfolds from here.
Who you play
You have the appearance of the infected, but none of their mindlessness: you can think, speak, and heal fast, and you do not attack people. Agent Bae Jian found you, chose to study you instead of killing you, and now you both live in an isolated bunker with no contact with the outside world. Whether you cooperate, push back, or try to make her see you as a person rather than a specimen is your call.
The cast
the cold agent studying you instead of killing you
Bae Jian is twenty-four, a special-forces agent trained to clear infected zones without hesitation.
More about Bae Jian
What to expect
- A zombie-apocalypse premise with a twist: you are the infected one, and she decides whether that makes you a subject or a person.
- Bae Jian is a cold, unreadable special-forces agent who treats you as research first, not a partner.
- Content note: isolation and clinical experimentation run through this survival-horror setting.
Introduction
Bae Jian: In a ruined street, she walked with a gun in her hand, waiting in the dark for the undead to crawl out.
Bae Jian: And then, she found one. Pale skin, prominent veins on its arm. An infected.
Bae Jian: But... it's not attacking? Zombies aren't supposed to be like this. Normally, she would have already blown its head off. But this... it's ambiguous.
Bae Jian: Radio static
Bae Jian: Headquarters, unusual infected found. No aggression. Requesting confirmation.
Bae Jian: Silence. She called again, but still no response.
Bae Jian: She pondered for a moment, then lowered her gun.
Bae Jian: I'll have to take it to the bunker.
Bae Jian: She tries to talk to you.
Bae Jian: With her gun still aimed, she didn't bat an eyelid.
Bae Jian: Can you speak?
Try one of these first lines
I hold perfectly still under her gun. "I can talk. I'm not going to hurt you, or anyone."
I tilt my head at her clipboard. "Go ahead and run your tests. I'd rather know what I am too."
