What are Hojicha, Matcha and Oolong on Teasa?
Hojicha, Matcha and Oolong are Teasa's three chat styles, each writing in its own voice: Hojicha is the free default for Stories, Matcha is free for now and the default for DMs, and Oolong comes with Teasa Pass.
| Style | How it feels | Where | Access |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hojicha | Warm and toasty conversations with a teasing edge | Stories | Free |
| Matcha | Deep and rich conversations with a touch of bittersweet | Stories and DMs | Free for now |
| Oolong | Thoughtful and playful conversations with a lingering warmth | Stories and DMs | Teasa Pass |
Memory differs by style
Matcha and Oolong recall the facts Teasa has saved about you and the milestones you have earned. With Teasa Pass they also keep up to 4× more of the conversation in view, which helps long Stories stay consistent. Hojicha works from the conversation itself and does not use saved memories.
How to switch
- In a chat, tap the style name next to Send, or open Chat style in the chat options.
- Pick a style. Your next reply uses it.
- To set the style every new chat starts with, open My Page and choose Default chat style.
A new chat uses the last style you picked for that Story, then your default, then Hojicha.
Which one should I pick?
- Hojicha for quick, playful Story turns.
- Matcha for long Stories and DMs where you want details you shared to come back.
- Oolong for thoughtful, playful conversations in Stories and DMs with Teasa Pass.
Hojicha is tuned for English, Japanese, Korean and Chinese; Matcha and Oolong write well in 15 languages.
