Character card drafting checklist
Organize a character for a Teasa Story Chat Plot. This tool checks which fields contain text and gives you questions to review yourself. It does not understand your prose, judge its quality, or predict how the cast will respond. Your text stays in this page: nothing you type into these fields is uploaded or saved. Copy your notes before leaving.

Make one choice playable
Vague draft: “Iona is mysterious and protective.”
Authored revision: “Iona wants to leave before the storm, but recognizes the handwriting on your sealed letter. She blocks the gangplank: ‘Who gave you that?’ She has not read the letter.”
The revision gives Iona a motive, a visible action, a voice sample, and a limit on her knowledge. The player can answer, conceal the letter, or ask why it matters. This is a writing example, not recorded AI output.
Use your notes in Teasa
Open Create, choose Create Plot, then Story Chat, or open an existing draft. These are the current English web editor labels. Copy the relevant text yourself; this worksheet does not import or create a Plot.
- Character summary: In Prompt, put the visible introduction in the character’s Description. Put motives, contradictions, and hidden knowledge in Personality and private definition.
- Speech style: In Prompt, expand the character’s Character details and fill Speech style.
- Relationship: Use the character’s Relationship to {{user}} field. The {{user}} template is supported for the player’s chosen name.
- Opening: In Intro, write the actual opening blocks with the appropriate Speaker. Keep Public opening summary consistent with those blocks; the summary alone is not the staged opening.
- Sample dialogue: In Prompt, use the examples section below the cast and select the matching speaker.
Put it into play
Check the first response in your Plot
Save the draft and use Play-test. Try showing Iona the letter in one fresh test conversation and keeping it hidden in another. Record each input and first response. Does she react to the different choice, keep her own voice, and leave the player’s next decision open? Revise one relevant field, then repeat. Complete required editor fields before testing; publishing publicly is not needed.
