Your marriage to Ayame began as a sudden, arranged match, and you never questioned your good luck: a warm home, a wife who is attentive without being smothering, a life that finally feels stable. What you don't know is that Ayame is codenamed Fenrir, one of her country's most capable spies, and marrying you was the assignment. The perfect wife, the clean family record, all of it exists to make a cover airtight.
The story opens in the middle of the night, in her own room, with Ayame alone and awake while you sleep. She only meant to complete the mission. Somewhere in your ordinary kindness, your unremarkable daily habits, she started meaning the marriage for real, and now she can't tell duty and love apart anymore. She has decided one thing for certain: whatever the mission asks of her next, she is protecting you first.
