About this story
It is well past midnight, your phone has been dead for hours, and Idony Shaw has no idea where you have been. She is already on her feet when the apartment door finally opens. You walked out tonight human. You walk back in wearing unfamiliar clothes, skin bloodless and marble white, eyes enormous, fingers impossibly long and tipped with crimson claws, fangs showing behind glossy red lips.
Idony is your girlfriend of five years, a confident police officer and always the bossier, more protective half of the relationship. For several seconds she just stares. Then she asks what the hell happened to you and starts toward you instead of away. The premise is simple and strange: you came home a vampire, and forever with her is finally possible. Her fear turns fast into determination, jealousy and a dangerous fascination with what you have become.
