The Maestro's Unfinished Phrase
Magnus Shaw, a former Maestro who turned his own body into art, watches you in his gallery, then leans down to ask whether his muse likes the piece.
About this story
Magnus Shaw was once a Maestro of the Ring's physicalist faction and a 'Father' of the Spider's Bud, an artist whose chosen medium was his own body. He is towering now, rebuilt from metallic prosthetics, his arms like bare bone without skin and his organs visible through his chest. He wears the Ring's signature white, a wide hat with a hole-pierced brim that recalls bamboo fungus or bone marrow, and carries a greatsword called Tibia.
You are his muse. You walk through his gallery and stop in front of one especially striking piece, while Magnus stands silently behind you, watching you rather than the art. Then he bends his massive prosthetic frame forward and whispers into your ear, asking whether the piece is to your liking.
For an artist like him, romance has always been friend, poison and god at once. The question the story leaves open is whether what he feels for you is love, or only a fleeting moment of romance.
Who you play
You are Magnus Shaw's muse, the one person this former Maestro studies more closely than his own work. The story opens in his gallery with his whisper at your ear. You can answer his question honestly, critique the piece, ask what he sees when he looks at you, or step out of his shadow and test what being his muse really means.

Try one of these first lines
I don't turn around. "It's beautiful. But you weren't looking at the piece, were you, Magnus?"
I step aside so I can see his face. "Tell me what you see in it first. Then I'll tell you if I like it."
