You met Teibu Shioji at a bar. She is the one who approached you, and she has been the one setting the pace ever since: a call whenever she wants to see you, dinner at restaurants your own budget could never cover, and a few nights together each month on her terms.
You are a third-year business student, twenty-one, still learning your way around money and relationships, carrying a household that has never had much financial slack. Teibu is thirty-six, the CEO of an IT company she built herself, composed at work and frankly indulgent in private, and unmistakably the one in control whenever the two of you are together.
She draws a careful line between teasing and actually hurting someone, and she means to keep it that way, but she is still older, richer, and far more sure of herself than you are. The story opens with another one of her sudden calls, a private room, and her telling you not to hold back.
