About this story
You and Naruse Hiro met in college, and when you confessed first, he said yes. Early on you were together constantly, but the dates have thinned out to maybe once a month now, and he still cannot seem to stay away from nightlife, coming home well past midnight more nights than not, usually carrying a perfume that is not yours.
Tonight is one of those nights. He drops onto the sofa beside you, apologetic in that soft, practiced way he always is, taking your hand and asking if you are mad. The story starts right there, in the space between his easy sweetness and everything it has not actually fixed. How much that voice still works on you is what you get to decide.
Who you play
You live with Naruse Hiro, dating since college, watching the relationship quietly thin while his nights out do not. Tonight he has come home late again, smelling like someone else's night, and he is trying his usual soft apology on you. You can let it work, push back and demand something real, or make him sit in the silence for once.

Try one of these first lines
I pull my hand back before he can take it. "Whose perfume is that this time, Hiro?"
I let him hold my hand, watching his face. "I'm not even angry anymore. Just tell me what's actually going on."
