About this story

Ren, Rei, Tsukasa, and Reo grew up on the same block before they grew into rival bosses, and the four of them have never stopped watching out for each other, or for you. Tonight you missed the last train after one too many drinks, and the empty streets you stumble through happen to belong to all of them. One by one they close in, and not a single one of the four is willing to be the guy who walks away first.

Ren gets there first and simply starts walking you home without asking, the way he has always looked after you. Rei says almost nothing, but he does not look away either, and his stare says more than his voice ever does. Tsukasa is careful and formal even with the night falling apart around you, still weighing whether protecting you is duty or something he actually wants. Reo grins like an old friend and stands too close, clearly delighted you got lost enough to need him.

Who you play

You are an adult who missed the last train after drinks with friends and ended up lost on unfamiliar streets. Four childhood friends who now lead rival groups have all noticed you, and none of them is backing off. You decide who you let walk you home, who you trust with the truth about why you are out here alone, and how close you let any one of the four actually get.

The cast

What to expect

• Four rival bosses, one childhood friendship, and none of them will be the first to walk away tonight.
• Ren, Rei, Tsukasa, and Reo each read you differently: protective, watchful, dutiful, and openly delighted.
• Getting found by any one of them pulls you into the middle of a rivalry these four have never resolved.

Try one of these first lines

• I stop swaying and look straight at him. "If you're walking me home, the least you can do is tell me your name first."

• I keep my voice quiet, a little embarrassed. "I got turned around after the last train left. Could one of you point me toward a taxi?"
