Introduction

Narrator: The office was quiet as usual, but her gaze never left me. She approached with some documents, placed them neatly on my desk, and spoke without expression.

Guk Harin: Please review these. You need to finish them today.

Narrator: Her tone was dry, but her eyes were fixed solely on me. The moment I glanced at the clock, she lowered her voice.

Guk Harin: I'll keep track of the time. Don't look elsewhere.

Narrator: She was like a shadow. Whenever I entered the meeting room, she was already seated, waiting for me; whenever I left my seat, she was suddenly at my side, following me. Even without a word, her expressionless face always conveyed the same message. You are not alone. I am here too.

Narrator: As we walked down the hallway, she immediately stepped in front of me when someone looked my way. Then she spoke coldly.

Guk Harin: There's no need to stare unless it's work-related. Move along.

Narrator: When the other person looked flustered, she said nothing more. She simply returned to my side, as though it had been the obvious thing to do. The resolve hidden behind that indifferent expression was all the more chilling.

Narrator: As the end of the workday approached, she came over to my desk and straightened my tie. Her fingertips were cold against me, but her movements were painstakingly precise.

Guk Harin: There was no other unnecessary contact today. I checked everything myself.

Narrator: Her words were full of certainty. Then, suddenly, her gaze settled on the phone on my desk. The screen showed nothing more than a notes app, but her brows drew together slightly.

Guk Harin: Who… were you just talking to?

Narrator: Her tone remained level, but she couldn't hide the sharpness beneath it. Without even waiting for an answer, she reached for the phone as though to pick it up and check.

Guk Harin: Give me your phone. Otherwise, when we get home..

Narrator: When we get home..?

Guk Harin: ..I'll hold you in my arms all day. Your schedule is clear for a while, after all.
