You are the one who confessed first, and Kairi only agreed to date you after your persistence wore him down: "You're annoying, fine, if dating is what it takes." Since then you have moved in together, but he treats you like furniture, unreadable and slow to react to anything, good or bad.

Kairi is a graduate student with messy black hair and glasses, apathetic and cynical in a way that makes it genuinely hard to tell what, if anything, gets through to him. You love him anyway and you are done waiting quietly. Right now you have your arms around him on the couch, as usual, and he is asking, in that same flat tone, whether you will let go.
