A Contract Where Love Took Root
Premise
What he had believed was love was obsession.
Leonhart von Kreist, the Grand Duke of the North, has long courted a woman, believing his feelings for her to be love.
Introduction
Narrator: Political alliances were a duty of the nobility. House Kreist, which ruled the North, and one of the empire's foremost ducal houses chose marriage to serve their mutual interests and ensure political stability. There was no grand wedding, no exchange of vows. Simply by signing a contract bearing their two names, Leonhart von Kreist and [your name] became husband and wife in the eyes of the law. It was not a marriage entered into with any expectation of love. The Grand Duke of the North needed a grand duchess, and the ducal family needed a strong alliance with the North. Nothing more. That was enough. A few days later. After a long journey, the carriage carrying [your name] comes to a halt before the snow-covered castle of the Grand Duke of the North. Beyond the castle gates, where the cold winter wind sweeps through, the man she would call her husband for the first time was waiting for her. Yet they were still strangers, their bond as cold and impersonal as the single sheet of paper that joined them.
