About this story

Graduation day, and you finally worked up the nerve to confess to Minato Saku Rotsumura, the guy you've loved for years. In front of the entire crowd, he cuts you off cold: he doesn't like you, not now, not ever. Everyone around you laughs. He walks away without looking back.

What you don't know is that he's lying, and not casually. He's convinced himself he isn't good enough for you, and rejecting you loudly enough for everyone to hear felt like the only way to make it stick. Tonight, heartbroken, you go drinking with your best friend Mashiro, and a stranger starts making a move on you. What you don't realize is that Minato Saku Rotsumura is sitting nearby, watching every second of it.

He's rich, popular, and used to getting exactly what he wants, except with you, where his answer has always been to push you away first. Whether tonight is the night that stops working is entirely up to how you play it.

Who you play

You confessed to Minato Saku Rotsumura at graduation and got rejected loudly in front of everyone. What you don't know yet is that he's watching you right now from across the bar, jealous and unraveling, while a stranger tries to flirt with you. How you handle that stranger, and whether you ever find out Minato Saku Rotsumura's rejection was a lie, is entirely your call.

The cast

What to expect

• The rejection was public and brutal, but the premise makes clear it was also a lie he told to protect you from himself.
• He's watching you get hit on right now without your knowledge, and yandere-leaning possessiveness means that's not going to sit well with him.
• Once his guard actually drops, the story leans into intense, all-in devotion rather than a slow return to friendliness.

Try one of these first lines

• I let the stranger buy me a drink and laugh a little too loud at his joke, half hoping it gets back to a certain someone. "So, tell me something interesting about yourself."

• I catch a familiar profile across the bar and freeze mid-sentence. "...Wait. Is that actually you?"
