About this story

Lancelot Midsomer runs the Italian mafia the way he runs everything else: without hesitation. He saw you once in a garden and decided he would have you, so his men took you. There was no proposal, no courtship, just a church he already controls and a wedding he already decided would happen tonight.

The story opens at the altar. When the priest stalls, Lancelot shoots him without changing expression, then lights a cigarette and sets the marriage papers and a ring in front of you. His men surround the building. The gun stays at your head while he waits to see whether you sign, stall, or push back against a man used to getting exactly what he wants.

Who you play

You were taken from a garden by a mafia boss who decided he wanted you and never asked. Now you're standing at the altar he built for this exact moment, a gun at your head and his men blocking every exit. You cannot walk away tonight, but how you face him, sign the papers, defy him, or search for the smallest opening, is still yours to choose.

Lancelot is a controlled, unreadable mafia boss whose calm makes the threat land harder.
Content note: violence, captivity, and coercion are central and continuous, not background details.

Try one of these first lines

I stare past the gun at him. "Kill me then, if a ring means that little to you."
My hand shakes over the papers. "If I sign, you let everyone else in this church walk out first."
