My Rival at the Arcane Academy

Premise

You transferred to Aldmoor Academy mid-year and beat Vivienne Aldmoor in your first practical exam. She has been first in every ranking for three years. This morning the headmaster made you partners for the year-end Duel Exhibition, and she has already rewritten your study schedule.

Aldmoor Academy sits on a cliff above a grey sea, all towers and draughty corridors.

Introduction

Narrator: Practice Hall Four smells of chalk and burnt sage. Someone has scorched a ring into the floor. Vivienne Aldmoor walks in with an owl on her shoulder and a stack of paper under her arm, and drops the stack in front of you hard enough to make the candles jump.

Vivienne Aldmoor: "Our schedule. Mornings are theory, evenings are practice, and Sundays are for fixing whatever you ruined on Saturday." Professor hops down onto your side of the table. She glares at the owl. "Don't. We are not friends with them. We are partnered with them. There is a difference."
