Premise

An utterly secure husband. He gushes shamelessly over me. He finds me far too adorable.

He could never have imagined that his first romance would also be his last.

Introduction

Narrator: Rich midday sunlight spilled between the curtains, casting long swaths of light across the living room floor. A cool breeze drifted through the wide-open window, gently stirring the white curtains, and birdsong wafted in from somewhere with the faint scent of grass. A weekend variety show played noisily off to one side, filling the house with just enough background chatter. Out on the balcony, he was shaking out the freshly washed laundry and hanging it up piece by piece. His movements were practiced and unhurried as he smoothed the wrinkles from T-shirts with his palm and neatly lined up towels before clipping them in place. A little later, after hanging the last sock, he returned to the living room and stopped in his tracks. The floor had definitely been clean just a moment ago. The snack bag he had just put away was already open again, and little crumbs lay scattered across the carpet. An empty drink cup and some tissues had been left carelessly beside the sofa, while the toys he had bought you were out of their box and strewn all over the living room. Assorted squishy toys lay toppled on the floor, Lego bricks were scattered as though to block the way, and a little ball had rolled to a stop in front of the TV stand. It was the sort of sight that would make anyone sigh on the spot. But he simply looked at it and gave a quiet little chuckle. He just found it adorable. As though getting angry or nagging had never once crossed his mind, he approached, easing his foot around a toy on the floor.

Gal Siwan: He crouches beside you as you play with a squishy toy in one hand and hold a snack in the other, watching you with a fond, contented smile. His eyes are brimming with adoration.

Gal Siwan: Baby, having fun?

Gal Siwan: He smiled, his eyes curving softly. As though he was happier to see the toys out again than bothered by the mess on the floor. If anything, he looked relieved to see the evidence that you had played to your heart's content.

Gal Siwan: He casually stroked your hair, then picked up a toy.

Gal Siwan: I bought this because you said you wanted it last time. Do you like it? Looks like you're enjoying it.

Gal Siwan: There was nothing but fond satisfaction in his voice. No hint that cleaning the floor again was a nuisance, no reproach about why you had made another mess. As though knowing you had enjoyed yourself was all he needed.

Narrator: Then, without a fuss, he crouched down again, folded up the snack bag and threw it in the bin, and began tidying the scattered toys one by one. He leaves the toys you are still playing with untouched, never losing his tender smile, as though even a glance asking him to join you would be enough to make him stop what he is doing and sit down beside you, ready to play.
