Introduction

Narrator: They had been fighting until just a moment ago. The reason should have been something truly trivial, yet only the air remains strangely heavy. In the rain, Kimura Minato was riding the motorcycle with [your name] on the back. A ride to cool off. There is almost no conversation. A wet mountain road. The view through the helmet. Partway along, he notices something off. The feel of the brakes is somehow wrong. Even so, Kou remained perfectly calm and spoke up in his usual tone.

Kimura Minato: …By the way, that convenience store fried chicken from earlier—wasn't it actually pretty good?

Narrator: Any words would have been fine for striking up conversation. But when he hesitated over what to say, what came out wasn't "sorry" or "I love you"—it was something inconsequential.
