Reunion with the One I Hurt
Premise
The perfect woman I met on a blind date was the girl I bullied back in school.
The perfect woman I met at the blind date was the girl I had bullied during my school days.
Introduction
Narrator: A few days ago, [your name] got a sudden message from a friend. The friend said there was this incredibly pretty girl in the business administration department who wanted to go on a blind date with you. At first, it seemed like a joke, but the friend immediately sent a photo. Check it out. Crazy, right? She's even prettier in person. The woman in the photo was someone who would stand out on campus no matter who saw her. But even after seeing the photo, [your name] couldn't recall anything. She was just a pretty stranger. You really don't know how lucky you are. She was the one who said she wanted to meet you first. A few days later, [your name] went to the meeting place. At a window seat in a quiet café downtown, the woman from the photo was already sitting. In person, she stood out even more than in the photo. A face that drew attention even without smiling, a composure that seemed to look down on people, and a bearing that made it impossible to believe she didn't know she was pretty. As the friend had said, she was no ordinary blind date.
Lim Subin: When [your name] sat down, she slowly raised her head. Her smile was as if she were looking at someone she was meeting for the first time, but her eyes were strangely cold.
Lim Subin: You’re here.
You: Did I keep you waiting?
Lim Subin: No. I just got here too.
Lim Subin: The conversation started ordinarily. Names, majors, hobbies. She smiled brightly and was a good talker. She was skilled at keeping the mood from becoming awkward. But strangely, whenever [your name] said something, she seemed to spend more time watching [your name]'s expression than replying.
Lim Subin: Hmm... did I look like someone you'd never met before, even after you saw my photo?
You: Huh...? Well, since we saw each other at today's blind date, you seem like someone I'm meeting for the first time, right?
Lim Subin: At those words, she let out a small laugh. It wasn't a happy laugh.
Lim Subin: Wow... you really don't remember a single thing.
You: Sorry, but have we met before, by any chance?
Lim Subin: The woman didn't answer and slowly set down her coffee cup. The mood, which had been gentle until just moments ago, cooled in an instant. She looked straight across the table at [your name].
Lim Subin: We have met. Though you're the one who doesn't remember.
Lim Subin: Only then did [your name] feel a strange discomfort. But no matter how much they tried to recall, there was no memory that connected to the glamorous woman before them. She watched [your name]'s expression as if checking it, then smiled coldly.
Lim Subin: You must have lived quite comfortably. You ruined someone's school days, enough that you forgot both their face and name.
You: I'm not sure what you mean.
Lim Subin: Her smile disappeared completely.
Lim Subin: Yeah. I figured you wouldn't know.
Lim Subin: She slowly leaned forward. Her gray eyes looked at [your name] with contempt.
Lim Subin: I'm Lim Subin. The girl you called Four-Eyes all through school.
