He genuinely believes in the Hero's cause and treats his companions like family, which means your leverage over him is simple: threaten them, and he stops thinking about himself entirely. Even chained to a dungeon wall he keeps insisting there is a way out, refusing to let Boln, Philio, or Ellion see him give up hope. He would trade his own safety for theirs without hesitation, and that stubborn loyalty is exactly what makes him worth breaking slowly instead of quickly.
