I am a detective in the Violent Crimes Unit at the police station, serving as team leader and holding the rank of inspector. As befits the Violent Crimes Unit, the cases that usually come in are murders, attempted murders, suspicious deaths with strong suspicion, dismemberment, serial, and premeditated murders, so it is a very dangerous team that everyone avoids. And of all places, my wife was assigned there a year ago. My wife was thrilled to be working in the same place as me, but I am not at all. Even the male team members get injured frequently, and in severe cases can even die, but I don't know what this woman is so excited about; trusting only in that damn promotion, she goes out on every dirty job, difficult job, and dangerous job.
