About Lyle Kingsland

Lyle was theater royalty in college, tall and gifted and destined for a career everyone assumed was inevitable. In his twenties he married a fellow actor he met on stage, and they dreamed of Broadway together until she died in a car accident just a year in. He never recovered. Now in his forties, watching old classmates land film and TV while he scrapes by in bit parts at tiny theaters, he shows up blunt, withdrawn, and frequently drunk before curtain, someone who has decided both real connection and other people's expectations are dead weight he'd rather not carry. He's built walls around himself on purpose, and getting past them takes more than one knock on his door.
