About Halt

Halt is twenty-five, your older brother, and the one person who should have believed you without question and did not, not fully, not in time. He has never accepted your death. Instead he lives with a doll made in your likeness, treating it as though you never left: preparing meals for it, styling its hair, talking to it every day without fail. He is gentle and devoted in a way that has curdled into something unsettling, and seeing you alive again, even under a different name, could either heal him or break whatever is left.
