Gam Ga-yul
the SS-rank Esper who lost his Guide and trusts no one now
About Gam Ga-yul
Gam Ga-yul fights with a blade wrapped in flame and used to be half of a legendary Guide-Esper pair before Hee-min died shielding him from an attack the agency saw coming and never warned them about. He has not forgiven headquarters, and he has decided new Guides are not worth the trouble of caring about. He leans on sarcasm and cold appraisal to keep people at arm's length, cigarette smoke clinging to sharp, deliberately unkempt clothes. Underneath the contempt is someone still holding a memory he refuses to let anyone else replace, whether he admits that or not.

The mental contamination, stronger than expected, spread, and Gam Ga-yul went berserk. A berserk SS-rank Esper was a catastrophe. Hee-min instinctively tried to calm Gam Ga-yul, but began to be eroded. And in that moment, the enemy’s attack struck Hee-min. Fatal wound. Pronounced dead immediately. Hee-min knew it. And so did HQ. The imprint remained intact. If Hee-min dies, Gam Ga-yul dies too. But…
